Kaimal Pictures

Founded in 2019 in South Africa, Kaimal Pictures develops and produces bold, character-driven storytelling across documentaries, premium unscripted, and scripted drama—stories rooted in lived experience, cultural nuance, and big emotional stakes.

In 2023, Kaimal produced Pop Goes Freedom, a three-part music film series for Mzansi Magic (MultiChoice) exploring the soundtrack of South African liberation and youth culture over the past 30 years.

More recently, Kaimal has expanded its streaming footprint as the creative collective behind Soft Life Showmax Original limited drama series and the Slay Queens Showmax Original docuseries—work that leans into urgency, social commentary, and entertainment without flinching.
